G'Day mates

Well we arrived in Australia safe and sound... a little tired after our many hours in the air. Only a 20-min delay in Vancouver leaving but still arrived in Sydney as scheduled. The flight was a little rough at times but other than that uneventful.

Landed in Sydney airport and then travelled more than two hours by train to Newcastle where our friends, Hilary & Don (aka Thorny) Thorton picked us up still dressed in our long pants and sweaters... we certainly didn't need them here it was +30 and sunny. After a shower and some great Aussie wine & barbee we were ready for bed at 9pm. From the time the taxi picked us up at home 33 hours had passed before we arrived at our friends.

Day 1
First day on the bus by myself...do not like talking to myself, although the bus was on time Glad you made it safe and sound... enjoy the sun.

Hey Cherrie & Fred Sure glad you made it down under in one piece or should I say two pieces. It is currently -20 here in Edmonton. Deb and I are taking Hannah, Nathan, Tracy and Steve to Disney World in Orlando, Fl. in in about 6 weeks or so. The grandkids don't know anything about it as of yet. Tracy & Steve want to wait until the very last minute, because there would be no containing their excitement if they knew. It is very hard to keep from spilling the beans to them. Anyway I'm sure that you don't want to hear about Canada right now anyway, so I will close for now wishing you the greatest holiday. You both deserve it. I'll be keeping and eye on your blog so write lots and post endless pictures and we will be right there with you all the way from the other side of the world. Bill & Deb
