The Road to ColorThe Road to ColorThe Road to Color

Just another colorful sight.
Hello from Canada, We said a fond farewell to Bar Harbor & Acadia, but made a spontaneous stop at a local birdhouse artist. We could have purchased any house we wanted on the honor system. But, Bob the artist and a native of the area, wanted to talk. He could tell a story about each and every birdhouse, where the materials had been salvaged from, and his mother's collections. He was a single parent and had to make a living on Mt. Desert Island and care for his son. He restores antique furniture and builds very unique birdhouses. Guess what we are bringing home in the motorhome! A quick stop at the L.L. Bean Outlet store helped us obtain a comforter and wool socks as the temp is getting cooler. Big decision: north or south? North won out. We have never been to the Maritime Provinces so New Brunswick, here we come. A smooth border crossing was achieved by a friendly border guard asking a few appropriate questions, no passports required or vet's ok (thanks for the tip, Phil, maybe we'll need it on the return). More autumn foliage greeted us! How much more beauty can our eyes take in? We

are heading for the Bay of Fundy, we think. We are camped right above the St John River in Fredericton. We chose it from our BIG campground book as one of the few open beyond Oct. 15. That seems to be the cut-off date, if not earlier. Dave even barbequed lamb chops in his jacket & gloves. We heard good news from home. Rebecca's baby is not longer in a breach position, CHS won a last minute, come from way behind game against RLS, Sailor Jeff had to repair a torn sail in the South Seas, Katie celebrated her 16th birthday, etc. We are in a new time zone...Atlantic for the Maritime Provinces. That means Dave will have to stay up until 9:30 p.m. to hear the 1st inning. Please message us if you are getting the photos. It took that long rainy day for Dave to figure it out. Stay tuned (wired) for the Maine Event...fall foliage. We just witnessed our 1st Canadian Sunset...wow! love, D,W, T
