Royal Caribbean - Grandeur of the Seas

May 17-26, 2013

Baltimore to Bermuda

When I chose to be on the Grandeur, I hesitated a bit because we would be doing a crossing to Bermuda for 2 nights and most of 3 days while just being on water with nothing visible for this extended length of time; however, much to my surprise, the sailing was absolutely wonderful. The crossing to Bermuda was smooth sailing and very enjoyable. The color of the ocean was truly the color of the deep blue sea!

I was delighted at the size and style of the Grandeur, a Vision Class ship in the fleet of 21 ships for RCCL. This is a medium-sized ship with all the best features of the RCCL brand. Royal Caribbean spent $15M revitalizing this ship adding more great restaurants, on-board activities, shops and plenty of spaces for relaxation. The Solarium has a covered roof with a pool and hot tub for rest or just lazing around. This area is also great for windy or inclement weather. The venues for music, games or reading are plentiful. This ship is wonderful for couples, honeymooners, families or

generational groups as there is plenty to do for everyone.

We took advantage of the dining package which was well worth the additional $55 for three restaurants. We ate at Chops Steakhouse, Izumi (serving Asian fusion cuisine), and Giovanni's (Italian). I highly suggest everyone try them. We also treated ourselves to the Chef's Table at $95 per person. The service was only for 14 people and quite a delight. The meal was five courses with a wine pairing for each.

The crossing back to Baltimore for 3 nights and 2 days were again quite delightful and the water was like a mirror for the entire day!
