Tehran through the eyes of my friend from Switzerland:

10 years ago, i went to Naghsh-e-Jahan square with my mother and we sitted next to a lady from switzerland. we started talking and then continuing our communication via internet and post. Around 2 years ago I went to Switzerland from Germany as I had something to do there and i met this lady again and she is my new aunt! this year, i invited her to come to Iran and she came to Tehran for 8 days and we all enjoyed alot going out together. i have asked her alot about her idea as she was in iran 10 years ago, she said Iran has changed lot and for me, it is always interesting to see my own country through a foreigner’s eyes. Here are some of my aunt’s findings about Tehran

1- Women can speak with their eyes to show their interior feelings and this is very unique
2- There are many banks in Tehran like in Switzerland

3- Traffic, Traffic, Traffic……..but interesting to stop for a while and see how people behave: they are more patient now compared to 10 years ago which i was here
4- Women are more stylish than women in Switzerland
5- Sidewalks are not good in Tehran
6- People are very friendly and polite in general and also with a nice smile after seeing a tourist
7- Clothes are not just black and there are a lot of colors and for Chador as well 8- I love these beautiful Mantos
9- One can go to nature (see, mountain or desert) just next to this crowded city. "Darband" is one of her favorite places
10- Thinking of buying a house in Tehran to spend retirement time after enough working
11- There are many women who drivers in the streets of Tehran
12- Iran is a rich country with a rich culture.
13- Women are modern and when you enter to the city, you see individual women whom look different.
14-Women with Chador and without Chador are together, friends or as a family member or just sitting next to each other in a bus without problem.
15-The first priority is for cars and the 7th or 8th are passengers in the streets!
16-The idea of B.R.T buses is very good although they should have their own route in every street!
17-Persian foods are one of the best in the world. Besides, Saffron is in ice-cream, egg, chicken, tea, juice and all foods!
18-Farsi language is sweet and sounds like music and she will start learning Farsi!
19-She did not see any police in the streets with guns coming to arrest her!
20-One has to know about "Taarof" before traveling to Iran and it is very funny when you observe it in life of people!

*If you have any question, I'll be happy to provide more details.
