Note the heavy duty Off Road Steel bumper
Just the other day Shez phoned me up to tell me she’d just seen a Land Cruiser roll onto it’s side in front of Abu Dhabi Mall. I know 4X4s have a slightly higher centre of gravity than an average saloon car, but the speed limit in that part of town is 30mph and there is less than 200 yards between sets of traffic lights, so you have to be doing something fairly stupid to tip one over. In the same area I have seen a Corolla on the pavement on its roof before now, again, that takes some doing.

I know there are many places in the world where the driving is worse, but they normally have poor road conditions and badly maintained vehicles. Here the roads are superb, and there are strict vehicle controls. The UAE government have realised that there is a serious problem and to be fair, they are implimenting a lot of programs to improve things. They cite "people from different driving cultures". Make of that what you will.

These wrecks appear all over Musaffah, and you see new ones every day.
