we arrived in Doha

We had a good flight and arrived in Doha at 6 a.m.We had again a problem leaving Adelaide with security. They took Liz little suitcase completely apart looking for something that was detected going through the X-ray. We found out later it was a small plate of a church in Haarlem Liz wanted to give to somebody in for it had no value to us. It was a hold up but apart from that there were no other problems. No problems at all in Doha where we arrived in a very hot morning and had to look for a cab to take us to the hotel that was close to the old city.We were ushered to a nice room with walk in shower. Liz went for a snooze while I tried to set up the internet on the phone and laptop. Later in the day we went for a walk in the Souq. Very hot we stayed as much as possible in the shade. It was Friday so all things closed. Shops would be open later in the day. Reason for us to go back. We have to for to get something to eat. Looks nice We saw places that looked very good to have a meal, although it would be mainly kebabs. The airconditioned hotel looked very nice so we went back there to sleep and look some TV. After 5 or 6 p.m.would be better to give it another go and walk back into the Spouq look for something to eat. Very busy now lots of people doing shopping, plenty of small street restaurants were open. WE went into one to order a meal. They were Hamburgers with chips. The meat was turkey no beef. No beer we could have water or lemonade orange juice. Our choice was orange juice. would have loved a beer. Cost of the whole meal for the two was $35. By 10 p.m. we were back in the hotel. Had a very nice shower. We looked at the women soccer but did not even see Liz going to bed. I was of to sleep. This was our first day in Doha. We talk again later Liz and Alphons
