March 3 - sea of gailee. We spent the first part of the morning on the sea of gailee. It was so peaceful and calm. It is hard to believe that Jesus spent so much time on this lake. He walked on this lake and gathered his first followers from here. We went to the site where a boat, similar to the one Jesus sailed in was found. It was an incredible site to see how they preserved the boat.
We went to Mt. Beatitudes and were treated to beautiful gardens and a peaceful setting. There was such a calmness to the site. One of tour group members read the Beatitudes to us from one of gardens.
We just came down from the mount and went to the shores of lake galilee. We went to see the area where Jesus called to Peter, John, the other fisherman. They had been fishing all night, and had not caught a thing. Jesus appeared they caught 153 fish.

We finished our morning with a visit to Capernaum. Jesus spent his adult years and started his ministry in Capernaum. We visited the synagogue where Jesus cast out the devil (Luke 4:31-36). The city has

We have arrived
Peter's house ruins. A catholic church has built a church right above his home.
We stopped at the Ein Gev for lunch. We were served fresh fish from Lake Galilee (talipa- see picture).

We just finished being baptized in the Jordan River. Sherry and I joined pastor Bob and two other members in the Jordan. It is the same river and location John the baptist baptized Jesus. The water was quite cold but made one of the highlights of the trip.
We made one more stop before the day was over and Sherry made a very unique purchase! A purchase she will never forget!

Love you
Doug and Sherry...
