Today after church, which is the longest hour and half of my life, we went into the old city to hang out until 4pm when the bus came and picked us back up. We got Flaffel at the best place in the Christian quarter. I dont know what kind of special stuff they lace their flaffel with, but they are so stinkin good. After that we went to trade some more money with Shaaban and had tea with him. It was really good tea, with mint in it and everything. I dont know where they make the tea but these guys walk around the street with these carrying trays for tea and deliever it to different shops throughout the old city. so Shaaban sent out for tea and we waited around his shop and then sat and drank. it was good. and since the weather was cold and rainy today it was a perfect stop from being outside. After Shaabans we decided to go to the Protestant Cementary. For one of the classes that i am in, called Jerusalem studies, we get points for visting differnt jerusalem historical sights. The protestant cementary by the Jerusalem University College is one of the

sights. The only way to get into the Protestant Cementary is to go through the Jerusalem University College and present a written form to the front desk which you have to obtain from the anglican church nearby, stating that you have permission to visit the cementary. The only way to get the written permission is to call and make an appointment to go to the church and ask for it in person. and they may or may not grant it. this is stupid. i dont have that kind of time. But, we did have the knowledge that there is a whole in the gate and you can sneak into the cementary without having to go through all the heirarchy of stupidity. so thats what we did. It was rediculous. you have to climb up along the side of the highway where there is barded wire along the top of the fence the whole way along. and then you get to the place where the whole in the fence is, but you have to climb up a wall first and then crawl under the opening which is in between the wall and the fence. It took us about an hour to make the trek. But we made it. got into the cementary for free, didnt have to get permission and, the best part, didnt get caught. it was fun. the cementary was really neat too. Kind of creepy because no one was around, we werent supposed to be there, and it was cloudy and rainy. perfect day for a walk through a cementary.
