gibeah to kiryat-yearim

woke up for the last time in jerusalem this morning we head to the old testement and north to gibeah of saul and a vantage point tel al ful where king Husain of Jordan started to build a palace on the top of the hill in 1965 but it was never finished but here was probably the site of king sauls palace as he reigned from gibeah for 38 yrs from here we can clearly see michmash where the philistines were when Jonathan and his armour-bearer started to fight the philistines and saul saw from gibeah that something troubled the camp and went to join the fight, God willing we go to michmash tomorrow

from here we went to nabi-samuel the suposed tomb of samuel and at the same site, hannahs spring. here there was a sign saying no nude bathing and we wondered why since the water was dirty and only about a foot deep james and I waded in to see how far back the tunnel went but it was too narrow to follow so we came back out and had lunch under an olive tree , next thing 2 young jewish boys came down and stripped off and washed in the water, we had to turn away, that was not what we expected!!

after recovering from the shock we went back up through the ruins to our car and headed for kiryat-yearim where the ark was kept before king David took it to Jerusalem

it is here at a place called Yad-hashmona that we stay tonight we went for a swim in the pool and had tea about 530 and then met Bill a teacher in biblical places who donnamay and Steve know we spent a good hour with him finding places on our maps that we want to go to and his knowledge is amazing .

if we can remember what he told us we should be able to find all the places we want to goto from here
