Hello and welcome to the blog of Carole and Adrian Scott.

We are starting our cruise around the Baltics on Sunday 2nd August and hope to keep a daily blog of the trip.

We are going with NCL on Norwegian Jewel out of Dover. This is particularly useful as this port is only 20 miles from where we live. We have decided that flying these days is a miserable experience so try to keep with train and ship.

We shall be briefly docking at Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Russia, Finland and Sweden.

Clearly we will not have much time to see these countries-this is a holiday not an in-depth exploration.

I had wanted to go to Antarctica. Three years back we got as far as Alaska. Carole pointed out that with the Scott surname, possibly the Antarctic was best avoided...
