In the age of package tours, the Schengen treaty and etickets, it is easy to forget that planning travel was so complicated. We are to cross seven borders and need four visas to get us through so our passports are filling up quickly. We have 15 tickets. The Russian ones are helpfully also printed in German so I still do not understand them. Then there are the three more to collect in Ulan Baator next to the Beer House. That gets us to Beijing.
At the moment it's all going a bit too smoothly and with under 20 days to go I am wondering what can go wrong.
