View from the walking path at our Bed and Breakfast.
This weekend we went out to a small fishing village called Portmagee that is off the Ring of Kerry. We wanted to see some puffins, they will be leaving the first week of August so we got lucky that we were able to find a place to stay and get on the boat to the island on the long weekend. We took the bus to a town called Caherciveen and then a taxi to Portmagee. Our B&B was overlooking the cliffs and the ocean. On Friday and Saturday we had beautiful weather, we both got a sunburn. The boat ride out to the Skelligs was pretty rough, but it was fun. We saw some seals, and one of the other boats saw dolphins on the way out. We didn't get any good pictures of the puffins but there were lots flying around, and thousands of gulls. There is a 6th century monastery on the very top of the Skellig, is is built out of stones without any mortar. I really didn't enjoy the walk up, I have problems with heights and walking on a narrow cliff with the ocean below me was terrifying, but James helped me through it. We had

a great time, and got to see some beautiful scenery in Kerry.
