Over the May Bank Holiday, we rode the GS up to the Summer Isles Hotel, 20 miles north of Ullapool, North West Scotland, covering around 1,400 miles in total.

The idea was to check that the bike, our kit, and ourselves were going to be up to the job of dealing with the 400+ mile days that we will be encountering on our trip from Alaska to Argentina.

Result? The bike didn't miss a beat, and 10 hour days in the saddle are perfectly comfortable, but Christine needs a new set of waterproof trousers.

How exciting!
The bike looks fantastic and I am sure you will have a fantastic time. I actually feel a little pathetic as I found riding my little motor bike from Horsham to London was too much time in the saddle! You are obviuosly made of harder stuff or have more padding on your seats! DX

What happened on the wee mad road that requires a new set of waterproof trousers? Perhaps you should consider more comfort breaks
