on the aquaduct
Kate and I met about half way between our houses as usual - luckily there's a good selection of walking places to choose from. We decided to meet near one of Thomas Telford's aquaducts, high above the river Dee. (It carries the canal across the valley.) But the car park was Kate's side of the river, and the road bridge was closed due to an incident with a bus, so the start of the walk was delayed while we found each other - you guessed it, by walking across the aquaduct. Anyway, the rain held off, and we walked along the canal, over the aquaduct and a bit of Offa's Dyke too. We took a picnic, and I was so tired when I got home that I snoozed instead of cooking tea!
