Dinner at a canalside pub
Cosy little pub with an open fire (too bad about the fake flames though) So much for loosing a couple of kilo before I left home; we went to the bakery to get some rolls for a healthy lunch and came out with Cornish pasties, Oggies (puff pastry meat pasties) and some cakes - again!
It’s been great to hear so many people speaking Welsh. A little 3yo girl was being told off by her father for crying, amazing to think that she can understand such a complicated language. Speaking of language; Lucy came out of the bath today with pink cheeks and I asked her why she hopped out so soon? She said ‘it was too friggen hot’.Where did she pick that up from… Darren!
We’ve been so lucky, it’s another lovely sunny day. The air is crisp (read cold) but the sun is warm. I’m glad it’s not windy though that might be too cold. We’re taking a gentle cruise down the river, marveling at the awesome spring scenery; bright green new leaves, blossoms, daffodils tulips, ducklings, lambs, baby rabbits and squirrels. I can hardly tell the difference between seasons at home apart from a change in temperature but here it is awesome.
We stopped by a quaint canalside pub
and pudding was included
can't pass up these cheap pub meals for dinner. I feel like starting a 3 month long pub crawl. Not only is it cute and cozy it’s also great value. My 2 course meal was only 4.25 pounds about A$10 and drinks are comparable to surf club prices, so maybe a pub crawl isn’t too much out of the budget.
