The lovely B & B This morning we farewelled our lovely country B & B and moved the cows off the road so as we could get our car out! Steve enjoyed this, of course.
We then booked ourselves on a boat trip on Loch Ness to see if we could catch a glimpse of Nessie. We enjoyed the boat ride which also provided us with lovely views of Urquhart Castle. Our Captain, Dick Raynor, was a local who had been studying and documenting life in the Loch for many years. He was very interesting to listen to and as a boy, at the age of 14, thought he had captured a photo of the Loch Ness Monster. He has a submersible and complex camera equipment which he uses to collect and document information on creatures living in the Loch.
His web address is www.lochnessinvestigation.com If anyone is interested in taking a look.
Following our boat ride we had such a long drive to Inverness - just kidding -1/2 an hour. An easy drive today!
Inverness is a lovely Town. It is situated on the Ness River and also has a canal running right through the town. It is quite a large town.
After we arrived
we found a laundromat and caught up with the washing and then had a picnic lunch on the riverbank,, which was lovely.
We then found a B & B and did some blogging and emailing. We decided we would go for a 1/2 hour stroll, along the canal, before dinner but unfortunately we missed the side- track and got ourselves a bit lost. We finally came upon a pushbike rider who told us we were heading miles away from town......... Ohhh my aching legs.
We had to walk all the way back again and our little stroll took 3 hours. We were both very relieved to get back into town and SIT DOWN. It was beautiful along the canal though.

Blue skies?
What a great holiday you're having. The photos look a bit suss though - blue sky in Scotland - unheard of! (It rained each day we were there - but our time was cut short because "someone" had broken his ankle and was on crutches, only one foot on the ground - not easy on wet cobblestones!!) Keep enjoying.
