It was a lovely day. After breakfast we went for a great walk around Melrose on the Tweed. We walked along the Tweed River. We went around the magnificent Abbey and saw the flowering gardens around town. Dave walked us to the beginning of the Camino de St. Cuthbert which I am sure we would have missed on our own. We saw the beautiful Melrose Church, Church of Scotland and had lunch. After lunch we drove through the countryside where we visited Bowden Kirk (Church) which we will be walking past tomorrow on the “Walk” and the old Melrose Abbey site dating to early 7th century, back home to a great salmon dinner.
Tomorrow we start the walk. The forecast seems ok for less rain till Monday. Pray we get good weather.
Cheers.
