Alamada, PortugalThis statue is a 28 meter replica of the famous statue at the top of Corcovado (Hunchback) Mountain in Rio de Janeiro. Created by the sculptor of the famed South American monument, the statue was erected in 1959 to thank God for having spared Portugal in World War II. This one is located in the village of Alamada where it commands a high bluff above the Tagus River near the April 25th Bridge.
