6 Days to go!

Well I thought it would be a good idea to try the site out before we actually leave for Malawi in 6 days time. There are seven ladies (all 40+, some +++!) all travelling to Embangweni in the north of Malawi. We leave Edinburgh at 5pm on Monday 4 April and arrive in Lilongwe around lunchtime next day. Our wrinkles will no doubt be prominent after a sleepless overnight flight from Heathrow to Addis Ababa! A three hour wait in Bole airport then onward to Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. A quick overnight stop there where we will purchase supplies and, importantly mosquito nets for the school dormitories and the hospital, and then a four hour journey, by land, on some of the worst roads ever, to Embangweni. For four of the ladies this is there first trip to Malawi but it's my second trip and this time I really feel like I am going back to see friends : )

Let the adventure commence and my next update will (hopefully) be from the Warm Heart of Africa one week from now : )
