Scotland Day Two was just awesome.
This morning Dad, Sara and Kev decided to head on out with Andrew and Chris sight seeing. I stayed in to work on my presentation and get it all together so I could relax the rest of the week and not have to worry about it. Before getting down to work, I headed up the road to Starbucks to get my daily caffeine injection. As I'm walking along, lo and behold I see a bit of a commotion at the church across the street. I stopped on my way back to check it out while sipping my coffee and lo and behold, it was the Queen coming out of Sunday mass! Took a few obligatory pictures and laughed to myself at the Japanese tourists next to me cheering "Sugoi! Sugoi!" to one another hahahaha
Coincidentally ran into Heather, Iain and their visiting friend Kate at the same spot and decided to go out for drinks at the pub tonight.
After that bit of excitement I headed back to the hotel, took a tumble on the slick cobblestone and hobbled back inside. I'm utterly graceful if you haven't figured it out
World's End Bar
The old city limit, thus "World's End" already. Dad, Sara and everyone else returned a while later and Dad was eager to show me some pictures he had taken with Sara and Kev. Apparently there's this shop up the road where you can get dressed up in tartans etc. and pose with swords and the like. The pictures were an absolute riot! They wouldn't give in until I promised to go with them to the shop to get mine done. So will be doing that tomorrow along with Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh Castle and Camera Obscura.
Once everyone had come back and changed for dinner we headed with Andrew and Chris up to this place on the Royal Mile called the Wee Windeys (sp?). The place itself looked a bit shady and the waitresses seemed as though they had the heroin shakes, but the food was absolutely delicious! I had deer pate with oat crackers and apricot chutney (mmmmmmmmm!) and later smoked salmon with a salmon filet. God it was soo good. Dad got the venison which was absolutely delicious too (he let me have a bite). I would've eaten the whole damn thing. Everyone actually was pretty satisfied with their food so will definitely recommend it

Sara and Kev got REALLY into it to anyone heading this way.
After dinner Sara, Kev and I headed on over to the Walkabout to meet up with Jodi, Iain, Heather and their friend Kate. It was a decent Australian bar with karaoke and what not. Didn't actually sing myself but we managed to con Kate and Jodi into it. It was an absolute riot! Walked home afterward through the fog laden streets of Edinburgh and got lost more than once but it was definitely worth it. I love this city!
More updates tomorrow. Have a day packed with sight seeing touristy stuff! For the time being though, feel free to check out the first batch of pictures (Queen shots included!)
