Chisholm House
This quaint little yellow building is where we go to class and get all of our politically minded books. They keep us in the basement. Ahoy Mateys!
Captain's Log:
Okay so Kaitlyn and I have basically been on house arrest in Edinburgh during the past week and continuing into the next so as to be at Holyrood's beck and call should they wish to meet with us. We took this cabin fever inducing situation however and turned it into the oppurtunity to take some pictures of Edinburgh and further enjoy the city in which we now live and work.
The city is really lovely once one gets away from the bit of the Cowgate where we live. There is of course the Royal Mile, but also Chisholm House, Prince's Street Gardens and George IV Gardens. The Gardens are a dividing line between the Old and New Town. While walking in the gardens you are reminded oh how small you are. The Gardens now stand where the Nor Loch once was before it was drained so New Town could be built, so for all intensive purposes we were standing in the bottom of the Loch. You look up and you are drwarfed by the Castle upon the (so eliquently named) Rock. Behind you are the Georgian era buildings of the Scottish Enlightenment.
Sandwiched
Sir Walter Scott Monument
At a distance from across the park between the Ancient and the Modern, what a wonderful way to not only sum up Edinburgh but Scotland.
Enjoy the Pictures.
Farewell and Adieu,
Vanessa
