Had a brilliant tour of Glasgow today.
Amazing how much there is to see in Glasgow.
it was a hop off hop on bus and it stopped at

Glasgow cathedral, gorgeous this brilliant St Mungo's museum, the best museum I have been to in ages it was the museum of religious life with all these brilliant exhibitions on different religions and cultures life stages like death, birth and marriage and coming of age. It had brilliant stain glass windows and amazing artifacts.

Also saw great things like the people's palace, the barras markets, the city chambers and trades Hall. There were lots of brilliant Victorian buildings I had a crick in my neck looking up at them.

After the tour I went and got my shopping fix, gloves, hat, shoes and skirt. brilliant!

New Lanark
I went here with Aunt Jenny and Uncle David, it's great. New Lanark is a 200 year old conservation village by Lanark in the scenic Clyde Valley of Scotland. It's surrounded by gorgeous woodlands, and right nest to the falls of Clyde. The riverside village has been restored as a living community , historically interesting place and a monument to Robert Owen, the monument mill owner and social pioneer. He was a brilliant man and brough in the new idea about looking after workers needs will lead to better workers!Amazing concept I know! He made a school for all the mill workers children, one that didn't use corporal punishment, a healthcare system and co-operative shopping. It's amazing tohear of a boss it the ·Victorian area actually treating their workers properly, refreshing!

Roslyn Chapel,
From the Da Vinci code it was amazing all codes and freemason stuff very cool. It took forty years to build and started in the 1400s. It was held up by gorgeous carved pillars. And I went down the stairs to the bottom vaults, just like in the movie.

The most famous pillar is the "Apprentice pillar" and it has an interesting legend attached to it about the mason in charge of the stonework in the chapel and his young apprentice. According to the legend, the mason does not believe that the apprentice can perform the complicated task of carving the column, without seeing the original which formed the inspiration for the design, located in Rome. Upon his return he is enraged to find that the upstart apprentice has completed the column, and in a fit of jealous anger the mason takes up his mallet and strikes the apprentice on the head, killing him. There were carvings of the apprentice with bashed in head, the master and the apprentice's grieving mother.

There were lots of the famous green men carvings the symbol of rebirth or fertility. There was also a carving of cornbdone before America was found, which is interesting because it supports the idea that the knights templar were in America before Columbus 'discovered' it interesting!!!
