The camp site is close to one of the Sustrans cycle routes and we followed this on our bikes along minor roads partly through the ThetfordForest to the ancient town of Thetford which turned out to be an excellent destination. We followed a cycle path along the Rivers Little Ouse and Thet which meet in the town centre. This led us to a huge Iron Age defences built in 500BC and a Norman castle mound built in the 1070s.
