Stonehenge is the most important prehistoric monument in the whole of Britain. It is unique, and there is nothing else like it anywhere in the world.

From the earliest times it has aroused the awe of visiters as one of the wonders of Britain. The monument we see today is the much ruined final phase of Stonehenge, the prehistoric temple in use some 3,600 years ago.
