Last few hours before launching. Relaxing for a bit in the calm environs of Dormansland before the repetitive queueing of airports and planes begins.

Survived the xmas football match with only a mildly sprained wrist and some aching leg muscles so I guess I have no excuse not to head for the giant hills 😊 Weather forecast looks near-perfect but does include a cold-snap from summit day (11th) onwards for a week (6 degrees is the high for those days, -15 the low). Otherwise it looks very pleasant indeed.

Somewhat exhausted is not necessarily the best state to be starting this trip with so I'm hoping for some sleep on the overnight 8 hour flight to Delhi before the short hop to Kathmandu.

Many thanks to all for the heart-felt wishes for success and safety - I'll be carrying them with me as I go.
