We’re off, oops false start!

Wow, thought that Simonsbath would be too small to register but it has come up in the location finder and it also made an appearance in Facebook in their ‘places’ section. Admittedly Facebook had some ridiculous comment like ‘within city limits’ attached but I was still impressed.

I have dropped a heap of photos in the blog here but you will need to access them via photos. Really they are the same as those broadcast through Facebook but there’s a little description that accompanies each here.





We walked about 22 km today which sounds like the real thing but ‘false start’ we were not actually at the starting line. More precicely we we’re almost at the finishing line but doesn’t matter. We walked to Withypool and back but our return route was a little too circuitous and not as pleasant. Difficult to believe that England is experiencing quite a severe drought. It was evident from the air but here things are green, quite lush and the streams are flowing to the river. I’ve seen it wetter greener but it’s sure no ‘Aussie drought’!

We tackle a shorter walk tomorrow as we are both surprising stiff. Should be able to walk that out though. Have not worked out my pack yet though. To master zips, pockets, compartments, inner linings, protective cases, buckles, beasts, straps, whistle, key holder, iPad storage, protective rain coat etc is something my science degree poorly equipped me for. I will have to do something though as one shoulder suffered a bit today.
