An unexpected bus tour of Oxfordshire!

For the past couple of months or more I have been suffering from a sensitive tooth, to the point that anything I drink that is hot or cold just hurts so I needed to get it sorted. I had managed to book myself into the dentist in Wallingford for an emergency appointment. Vaughan had his new glasses to pick up from specsavers in Didcot so today was an errand day. Usually we drive ourselves but given we had a now larger vehicle and parking in these towns with small streets can be a pain it was easier to take the local bus. Lucky for us the stop was right outside the marina. The ride to Wallingford was less than 10 minutes, I went to the dentist and Vaughan had to catch another bus to Didcot. I expected given the amount of time I spent in the dentist getting a filling, Vaughan would have been in and out of Didcot and back in Wallingford before you know it, but no he got on a bus that would give him a complete tour of Oxfordhsire. He said the bus would not get him into Wallingford until 5:30pm that was more than an hour away, he was mad because the bus driver had told him it was the bus to Wallingford but didn't tell him that it would take the long way around! I was mad because he had the keys to the motorhome. So I used the time to get some grocery shopping done and decided to take the bus back to Benson and go visit Lisa until Vaughan was back on the Benson bus. What an ordeal, it was that moment that I miss having a car!

The evening was splendid with lovely sunshine so after dinner we decided to walk along the Thames and ended up at the old castle ruins near Wallingford. The ruins was more of a site where the castle used to be and only bits were left. The graveyard next door was very interesting and had two lovely little churches. By the time we returned back to Matilda it was almost dark.
