Princess Anne and the Austin Princess, Sandringham

The 1969 Austin Princess Vanden Plas limousine in which Princess Anne was attacked (and her bodyguard and chauffeur both shot and injured) on her way back to Buckingham Palace from a film premiere in March 1974.

The Royal Standard, Sandringham

Only used when the car is stationary or travelling slowly, the Royal Standard can be raised and lowered from inside the car.

Sandringham Fire Brigade

Manned by volunteer estate workers, the Sandringham Fire Brigade was established in 1865 and eventually amalgamated with the Norfolk Fire Service in 1968. The Brigade had saved the house from serious fire damage in 1891 and 1903.

Parterre & apple juice
Oxburgh's parterre and herbaceous border were fabulously colourful last week (mid-July). I agree about Sandringham's apple juice. But are you sure it was our house you were staying in?
