After many promises, here is the much awaited blog.
For those of you who have been fortunate enough not to hear us go on and on about it, here is our itinerary:
Sunday 30th September - 7:25 am flight: London to Lima (via Madrid)
Monday 1st October - 6:00am flight: Lima to Cusco
Wedsnesday 3/10: Start of the Inca Trail (5 days)
(end of planning....)
We roughly know that we will cross over to Bolivia via Lake Titicaca. Bolivia will offer hiking, mountain biking, jungle and salt desert exploring opportunities, ending in a mind numbingly boring (so I'm told) train ride into Brazil.
1st port of call in Brazil: Pantanal and more wildlife, followed by the Iguazu falls and short plane ride to Salvador de Bahia. A couple of weeks to explore Bahia and make our way down to Sao Paula.
18 october - Flight from Sao Paulo to Buenos Aires. Couple of weeks in Argentina. No definite plans as yet although Grahame tells me Tango lessons are very much on the card.
2 December - flight Buenos Aires to Santiago in Chile. Just over 24 hours in the capital before a long haul flight to New Zealand.
3 December - Take off from Santiago. Arrive in Auckland just before 4:00am on 5th December....
5 December - Stay in the Airport and catch a flight to Christchurch right away. Rest and explore Christchurch for a couple of days
7 DecemberPick up camper van and tour South Island. Take ferry between South and North Islands and explore North Island. Return camper van on 22/12 at depot in Auckland.
24 December Flight Auckland to Sydney.
25 December Xmas BBQ on Bondi beach (has to be done 😉. Another 10 days in an around Sydney including New Year.
3 January Flight to HCMC, Vietnam. Meet up with Grahame's parents there for a 2 week tour of the country.
(end of planning....)
Rougly know we will see some friends who are temporarilly leaving in Siem Reap in Cambodia and will obviously visit Angkor Wat. then travel to Thailand and enjoy the trekking and beaches in has to offer. Northern India and Rajastan will be are next port of call also we haven't got a clue how we'll get there. The only certainty? The New Dehli - London flight on the 25th of March 😞

The adventure starts in a few hours....
