Likes and Dislikes

Likes:
1. Hampstead Heath

2. London Parks: There are beautiful parks all over central London. All of the parks have gardens and are very well taken care of.

3. London Pubs: Most pubs in London are over 100 years old and have a great atmosphere. Also, (my favorite) there are piano bars in every town.

4. Old Architecture

5. Top Shop and Primark: I wish I could afford the earth friendly fashion I wrote about in my other blog entries, but after the conversion rate, I find myself stopping into Primark and Top Shop. Both stores are fashion forward and extremely cheap. At Primark, you can actually get a swim suit, flip flops, a bag, and sunglasses for $20 or less. (That’s less than 10 pounds!)

6. Outdoor Markets: Outdoor markets are the places to go on the weekends. Most towns will have a small farmers market and of course there are the famous larger markets like Portebello and Spitalfields.

7. Food: Sausage Rolls, Curry, Fish and Chips, Pastries, and much more! English food, although not very healthy, is tasty!


Dislikes
1. Smoking in Bars and Restaurants: The pubs and bars are soooo smoky! When you get home from a night out, your hair and clothes just stink! Also, my throat is always sore the next morning. Thank god on July 1st London is bans indoor smoking. YAY!

2. Public Transportation lacks Air Conditioning

3. The pound vs. the dollar- London Prices: 2 to 1…enough said

4. Driving on the left side of the road: Everyday I almost get ran over by a cab driver at least 3 times.
