Hello everyone,
Its crazy how life can be some how unexpected.
Anyway, yesterday was a huge day...start up early by a free tour. Tour are given by Sandmans New Europe. They are making tours all over Europe and it is a great way to first of all meet other travelers and also find your repairs in the city you will be visiting in next few days. So we did the tour, walk around the royal town for about 3hours. Because London is so huge, they only cover this section of the city in the tour. However, they have 3 other tours (cost around 8£ each) that will cover other section of the city (old city, east end, nightlife). The tour start in green park and went by the buckingham palace, where we watch part of the change of the guard, trafalgar square, St.James Palace, Big Ben just to name it.
We then chose to walk to the Globe theater and visit the Tate Modern. As you may know, I am not at all a fan of modern art. I find it uncomplete, chaotic and not at all organised. This time it was better. The museum still look weird
to me from the outside. I like the noblety from art and I am sure I wont find it there. However the place is very well organise and devide by age, style. You can easily find your way and not miss too much. The permanent expositions are on the 3rd and 5th levels. I like the two first rooms were you can find some Polock,Matisse,Miro,Pacasso, etc. But I have to say that I hate the 5th floor. There is still beautiful piece of art but way too much things that look like nothing but art frrom my point of view.
We then walk back to Westminster, where we were supposed to meet with one of my friend and her boyfriend. We met at a pub right next to Big Ben named St.Stephen Tavern. Its just a great place in a great place. You are right in front of Big Ben and the place is pack. From outside you are surethat there must be a million tourist and the beer has to be super expensive. That was my first reaction...until I walk by the back door were I saw about 50 man and woman drinking white wine and pints outside in the
middle of the street. We made it to the bar and order two HB export pints and sat with the locals to watch the south africain/Uruguay game. So, we had a couple drink with Mathilde and Micheal. And walk back to the hostel.
Today is our last day in London. We been very careful what we bought and we are way under budget (great cuz we know that wont last). I am a bit tired to walk around and not use their beautiful tube. Its for sure one of the best in the world but its freaking expensive. So we kept on walking.... First in the morning we alik to the Natural history museum. Its a great museum but this time there was just too many kids. They have a great dinosors section. Honestly can you not feel and act like a kid when you are in there.
We then walk back to the hostel were we watched football with the other travelers. ***I will be anoying again and say what I think of the Quebecers that call thereself real Quebecers and not Canadians. First of all this is crap. You can so some pride without making us
look like stupid blinded seperatist and secondo, this is not because you are in Europe for two weeks that you have now a french accent. Event worst, the guy only had the accent went he was talking to french people.***.
We will be in Bath tomorow.
Cheers,
Nick
