We decided to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary with a trip to London. It seems many many many years ago and I suppose it is,and I must say we have enjoyed them all However it was decided that I would on this occasion organise a surprise for my other half and take her somewhere So I decided to take her to see some of the sights of London. An absolutely fantastic place to be.At this point may I add that all the streets are not paved with gold but you need gold lined pockets to survive and some things can be quite expensive. We managed to find Wetherspoons not too far away and enjoyed a few drinks in there.Considerably cheaper than the hotel bar
The hotel was The Tower Bridge Hotel and we found it an excellent place to stay, our room having a view of Tower Bridge and the river.
The food was good and the service of a very high standard
I hope you like the picture.
We did have a marvellous time and visited two of the shows in town namely "The Lion King" and "The Phantom of the Opera".both exellent shows. On Sunday morning we had a trip to Covent Garden , a street market in the centre of London and I was amazed with the street entertainers, singers, escapologist's,musicians and the like, fabulous entertainment. It certainly warrants a second look
The next trip to London will be for a trip on the river and a ride on the London Eye.So watch this space for our next update perhaps on our next anniverary 49?
