On a day out from Blackpool we decided to visit Rufford Old Hall and it was well worth the visit Being members of the National Trust and having a lovely day at our disposal we decided to go Getting there was quite easy with a little help from satellite navigation. The hall is set back off the road and in the middle of some beautiful trees that provided some welcome shade and kept the car cool while we explored the house and gardens. The gardens are very beautiful and peacefull.A haven for birds and wildlife.

A beautiful clean and well kept site with both residential and homes to let caravans, the lawns were clean and well tended and

It seems many many many years ago and I suppose it is,and I must say we have enjoyed them all However it was decided that I would on this occasion organise a surprise for my other half and take her somewhere So I decided to take her to see some of the sights of London. An absolutely fantastic place to be.At this point may I add that all the streets are not paved with gold but you need gold lined pockets to survive and some things can be quite expensive. We managed to find Wetherspoons not too far away and enjoyed a few drinks in there.Considerably cheaper than the hotel bar The hotel was The Tower Bridge Hotel and we found it an excellent place

Now all manner of wild life are supported by the water and woodland that surround the mill. The sun was shining, the car full of petrol and the sat nav system fully loaded. So off we set the journey was a very pleasant drive through some of the most pleasant scenery that Derbyshire can offer and finally arrived at Kedleston Hall Estate. Beautiful absolutely are the words to describe it

At the same time we decided to call my sister living at Morley Leeds to accompany us and she said"yes"so she decided we would make a day of it and take a picnic with us plus my 99yrs old mother and a wheelchair. The picnic was an excellent idea the wheelchair was not.I have to say Haworth is not wheelchair friendly with regard to the cobbled road, other aspects for the disabled are well catered for I Hasten to add

Left Manchester at 7.30 and it was raining. It's good to see the sun again.Had an excellent journey with Monarch Airways and left on time. The usual things applied to the flight and I suppose we all take the cramped conditions as part and parcel of modern travel.Never the less the in-flight meal was acceptable if not digestable and consisted of sausage, scrambled egg tomato and tea .After some effort that would have done credit to a trained contortionist the meal was dispatched and before we knew it the stewardess was dispensing lots of expensive drinks gifts and perfumes. I of course politely declined all offers We arrived in Crete a little earlier than I anticipated. Today we decided to explore a
