Luckily, I wrote everything down in my tiny journal my mom gave me since I've been gone for a week haha...however, I'll try to keep it short and sweet since I always seem to write the longest entries ever!
London was, of course, amazing, however it was different than I imagined..it is so much narrower, however that made it SO much cooler when you were riding through it on a double decker bus...which was SOO much fun! We visited Kensington Gardens...I'm convinced this is where I will someday find my future husband..haha...every man I saw either had an adorable dog to play with (btw ALL of the dogs here are not only well behaved but gorgeous!,) or was playing with one of his kids <3 Haha..I know...but it really was adorable. We saw the outside of the palace, the Princess Di Memorial playground, and several monuments, including the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain...ok...no offense to the designer, but it was super lame. The swan sculpture next to it was lovely, however the fountain looked like a circular sewer system to play in...I didn't get it...I think that Lady Di deserves something waaay better than what they came up with, but that's
my hotel room
me and two other roomies just me.
The flower garden of Kensington was BEAUTIFUL!! I was, of course, going crazy since I cannot get enough of beautiful flowers...I totally felt like Snow White, though, since all of the animals kept coming up to us super close!! The squirrels and pigeons were NOT afraid of us...especially Lyn, who got attacked by a pigeon bahaha...
However, I have to say I almost DIED when I saw the Peter Pan statue. It was one of my favorite parts of London, seriously haha...I love Peter Pan and everything about the story and book...however we could NOT find the damn thing to save our lives and my group was wanting to give up, but I HAD to see it haha...thanks girls 😊 It was totally worth it..
We also went to Herrods (HUGE!.....they sell everything...they have groceries...and over priced Kelloggs,) ate at a reeeaaaallllly good sushi bar (glad I got my group hooked on sushi 😊, ) went on the London Eye, saw Buckingham Palace and the guards marching in, went to the Tower of London (saw the crown jewels...WOW,) AND went to a service at Westminster Abbey. That will definitely be an experience I won't forget...the
choir sang flawlessly...not to mention we were in one of the most majestic and beautiful cathedrals in the world. However, I am pretty sure I was almost struck down by God for taking pictures as we were leaving...I got in trouble by one of the clergy men! :/ Thus, my camera didn't work in Paris....true story...I got no pictures while I was there 😞 but anyways...
The only downside to London was definitely the weather...it rained on and off almost the entire time we were there, however I guess that fits with the setting haha..it was also pretty chilly. We are now PROS at using the tube (subway)...we rode it alllll day long to get everywhere. The tubes were actually really cool though...every stop was different. There are also a lot of very talented musicians who play in the underground...we saw one or two accordion players, some guitarists (one was awesome!...put me in a better mood during the gloomy day 😊, ) flutists, violinists...the works. There was one accordion player I noticed, though, in particular. I saw him at the beginning of the day at a stop by our hotel and he was in the exact same spot when
we came back. We were out all day long. It was so bitter sweet to me that all that man really has in life is his music and whatever he makes from passerbys during the day.
Spent two days here and left Wednesday for Paris!
