So I went down to Wimbledon, picked up the latest issue of the SA Times, saw a competition to win tickets to the London Wine Show. Won two tickets. Went, and had a great time.
Ryan and I jumped on the tube, headed up the Northern line to Angel. (which by the way is a really cool part of London) and strolled into this 'London WIne Show' thing not really knowing what to expect. As we walked in we were each handed a glass and from there we went.
As you walk in you are just stunned by the enormity of the place and the number of stands. It is quite overwhelming! So we went to the nearest wine dispensary which happened to be the French wine section. Had some nice reds from Bordeaux and Provance, some bubbly from Champagne (took some pens and chocolates) and then moved on to the Portuguese port, spannish wine, austrian wine, NZ wine, Austrailian wine, SA wine, USA wine, Macedonian wine Chilean wine, english wine (yes they do make wine in the south!), Argentinian wine etc. It was AWESOME!!!!. I could not believe it. You simply saunter up to these various venders, point to the

most expensive wine on the list and they pour you some free of charge! How cool is that!? ( I am presently writing a letter to Red Ken, mayor of London recommending they hold this event bi-weekly, I'll be sure to keep y'all updated)
It was great running around eating crackers, trying wine and learning about it as the same time. Met people from all over the world including a couple of very inebriated young ladies from California. I myself bought some fantastic shiraz from argentina, some cabernet from SA and some simple table red from france. Good times ahead!!
