Caspa
Taylor, Jillian and Me with Caspa, the DJ we went to see our last night out. After we arrived from Liverpool we all had to get ready for our last big night out as a complete group. Some people had already left, but for the most part everyone was still there. One of our favorite DJs was playing at one of the biggest clubs in London that night, which worked out perfectly for us. Fabric was one of the first clubs we had gone to as a group, and it just seemed right that it be our last. Since it was a Thursday the concert began earlier, and the club closed at 3am (compared to the usual 6am), which was good for those who had to catch a flight the next morning. The night was amazing. Everyone stayed together and we all got to spend our last full night having a great time. Although it was sad to leave the club, in the end we knew it was the perfect way to end our nightlife careers in London.
The next morning I got up early and went with John to Broccoli, a suburb of London that his great grandfather had once lived in. He had a family reunion coming up and wanted to take a picture
Shoreditch Park
Hanging out at Shoreditch park withe everyone. of his relative’s old home. The house was awesome and I really enjoyed going to a suburb of London that I had not seen before. After we got back we met up with everyone at Shoreditch Park, one of our favorite places to go on a nice day. We all spent a long time there just eating bagels and watching the boys play football. When it was time to go home, I sadly said goodbye to one of our last times all-together at the park and headed back to my room to begin to pack. I was leaving a day later than everyone else, so I actually got no work done once I got back, but ended up just sitting in other peoples rooms and watching them do work.
That night we all met up to go to our favorite pub, the Red Lion. The Red Lion was only about three blocks away from where we lived, and we loved to go there to have a cheap pint and play cards. The pub was four stories, with the second and fourth stories being our favorite. The second floor just looked like an old living room with random chairs, tables
Thai food
John, Adrienne and Ben getting Thai food as our last meal together. and couches just kind of thrown in the room. On the fourth floor was the roof top deck, which was nice for obvious reasons. Everyone who was left in London ended up being there that night. We all completely took over the second floor. We were actually pretty quiet compared to other nights, but still managed to have fun. At this point John had won every game any of us had ever played of “Egyptian rat screw”, but we all decided to play one more game. In the end, I finally won. Of course I didn’t shut up about it for the rest of the 16 hours that he was in London, and I still don’t plan on shutting up about it. Just for the record, I am also reining champion of RISK and rummy.
The weather was nice again so we all bought snacks and drinks and sat our in our courtyard. We all were very quiet by this point, and depression had pretty much overcome us all. I thought I wouldn’t cry like all of the other people who were already breaking down, but I was very wrong. Two of my British friends came to say goodbye,
The Red Lion
The first wave of people at the Red Lion and I couldn’t help but beginning to cry. I reined it in for the rest of the night, but the next day I wasn’t as successful.
Adrienne, Sam, Jordan, Ben, Mij, Hollie, and Jen all stayed up until 6am to say goodbye to John. It was extremely depressing and I still would rather not think about that moment. The lack of sleep, in retrospect, could by why I couldn’t stop crying the next day. But around 6:30am I finally got to bed, and set my alarm for 8:30am to say goodbye to the next wave of people who were leaving.
I did not get up at 8:30am.
I missed saying goodbye to Sam and Aaron, which was probably for the best. My emotions were not doing so well as it was. Jen also missed saying goodbye to them, and came into my room around 10am bawling because of it. Her crying just made me begin to cry, and I don’t think that I stopped crying until around 3am the next morning.
I had breakfast with Jordan, Adrienne, Jen, Stephanie, Johnny, and a few other people before having to say goodbye to them. The whole time I
Packing up John
Adrienne trying to help John pack was sobbing loudly, and I’m sure scarring everybody. In the end the only ones left were me, Dakin, Oscar and Ben. The rest of the day they had to console me as I tearfully packed up my room….
