I can't go without mentioning that the London subway "tube" is one of the most user-friendly systems with absolute impeccable timing. Well designed veins all leading to the heart of it all.
From the moment I exited the station there was an undeniable buzz on the streets. I stopped at the first pub that offered fish and chips and a cold pint.
