The journey begins - leaving the UK

Well the time for telling everyone about our plans and ideas has gone, it’s now time to say our farewells and embark on our adventure around the world.

Prior to departure there were a few re-packing episodes as we tried to lose 16kg (most of that was actually from Will’s case!) and a last minute search for Will’s driving licence, before we left for the airport with our parents and Jo.

It was an emotional goodbye at Heathrow and the tears started to flow! But we picked up our backpacks, hand luggage and travel pillows, waved goodbye and heading on through to our adventure!

As we boarded the flight we realised there was a couple of children sat near us… one of whom definitely wasn’t enjoying the take off, but they soon seemed to tire themselves out and the rest of the flight was pretty peaceful! Will did his usual trick of ordering seconds of the in-flight meal, and then we settled down to a marathon of movies.
