Two days to go and we've had two days of farewells with rellies in Oldham, Rochdale, Middleton and Glossop.

Last night we had a little industrial heritage with a slap-up meal in the Boat and Horses by the Rochdale Canal, but no narrowboats to be seen. I'm reliably informed it was once a primary route for shifting coal, limestone, bricks and cotton. Nowadays it is a 'leisure facility' alongside the Manchester M60 ring road.

Today we moved on to Glossop, gateway to the High Peak District though this may be contested by Chapel-en-le-Frith.

See as though you didn't bother saying Goodbye to me the other day, I might as well say it now; Goodbye! Have a great time, and don't forget the towel. - HHJnr

After escaping from a fate worse than death a John Otway concert, a very plaesant night was had at your leaving do, with even more jollity on Friday lunchtime. Philip is in depression an we have had to take his shoe laces away from him. The medication will kick in shortlty. When I have told people you've gone Brazilain, the answer was what a full one. Have a good trip - Keith Broughton
