Anyone thinking of visiting the Lake District in the UK? If you enjoy the outdoors and good walks then I'd advise to go. On Sunday we walked a classic Lakeland walk known as the Fairfield Horse shoe, we are getting some training in because we go to Borneo in 6 weeks to tackle Mount Kinabalu. This walk starts in Ambleside and finishes in Ryedale, it was really tough and the scenery is as good as any I've seen. The walk itself was about 14 miles and took us about 6 hours I’ve got to re iterate it was quite tough but then again I’m not an experienced walker. The lakes is a stunning place we reached heights of 3000ft which is nothing compared to the great mountains of the world but was still a good walk. People from outside of the UK would really enjoy the lakes because of the authentic villages and good pubs old building, churches and history etc.... We also walked up Snowdon in Wales a few weeks earlier which was lovely scenery too, it was snowing at the top in April and was really cold when the wind blew, after the walk there are loads of good

pubs were you can settle down in front of a roaring fire and have pint and a bite to eat, going to do Ben Nevis in Scotland in a couple of weeks too thinks that’s 4,300 feet or something? Heard Scotland’s scenery is the best the UK has to offer but I’ll find out for myself in a few weeks.

Well went to Scotland and must say the scenery is much more dramatic than it was in England, Ben Nevis was still caked in snow at the top in the middle of May. The weather was really bad and unfortunately for us the sview was blocked by low cloud, but on our return had a good session (drinking) back in fort William
