I went back to Montreux exactly a week after seeing Miyavi. The weather could not have been more different! This time I could see the scenery and enjoy being by the lake. However, this time the main purpose of my visit in Montreux was not really the music but….meeting Andrew. I found him and his two friends at the bar near the stage "Music in the park". The band playing was a quartet from the US army. We listened to them for a little while before walking along the lake. The promenade is very nice. We bought some cans (that we kept fresh by keeping them submerged in the lake), some picnic and sat on some rocks overlooking the lake. We could chat and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Later, we went to see a band called the Rambling Wheels. It was ok but I always find it difficult to enjoy a live performance of a group you have never heard of (unless they are insanely good).

Saturday was a really slow day, we are too old for that (that meaning getting home at 6am). We still managed to find the energy to go for a stroll in town in between two rain showers. The old city centre is really pretty but really small. I keep being amazed at how small Geneva is. The weather on Sunday was very Scottish. But t didn't stop us. We went to the farmers market and bought our picnic: a bottle of local wine, a roasted chicken & potatoes, some cheese and dry ham. A feast we had to enjoy under a tree to protect us from the thin rain! We found a spot view a view on the harbour and the 'jet d'eau'. We were just across the road from the park La Grange so we had a quick look there. It is supposed to be the nicest park in Geneva. The rose garden is indeed very nice, and some roses were still in bloom. The droplets on the petals made for great pictures (I regretted a bit leaving my big camera at home). On our way back, we stopped for a beer near the stage of the Geneva festival. We had planned to go back to the old town, but a massive poor down in the late afternoon made us retreat back to the flat. Despite our umbrellas, we arrived rather wet.

I had to work on Monday and Tuesday, but work is not very busy yet. So I could meet Andrew for lunch and then get off work early. On Monday, the weather was s**t, so we decided to have a nice dinner at home, on the balcony. We brightened it up with a couple of bottle of wine and some music. Nice evening! Tuesday night was ever so slightly livelier (to say the least). We had an early dinner, packed some beers and headed for the lake and the festival. It was a good night!

J'étais de retour à Montreux exactement une semaine après être allé voir Miyavi. Le temps n'aurait pas pu être plus différent ! Cette fois j'ai pu profiter de la vue sur le lac et les montagnes. Cependant, cette fois la musique n'était pas vraiment la raison principale de ma visite. Je suis venue retrouver Andrew et ses potes. Je les rejoins au bar de la scène ‘Music in the park', à ce moment-là un groupe de jazz de l'armée américaine jouait. On les a é un petit moment avant d'aller se balader le long du lac. La promenade est vraiment sympa. On est passé par la superette du coin pour acheter quelques bières (qu'on a gardé fraîche en plongeant dans le lac) et de quoi pique-niquer avant de se trouver un endroit d'où profiter du coucher de soleil sur le lac. Plus tard, on est allé voir un groupe appelé ‘The Rambling Wheels'. C'était pas mal mais je trouve toujours un peu difficile d'apprécier une performance live si on ne connait pas les artistes (sauf s'ils sont absolument géniaux).

Le samedi, on n'a pas fait grand-chose. On était crevé. Rentrez à 6h du mat', c'est plus de notre âge. On a quand même réussi à trouver la motivation d'aller se balader dans la vieille ville. C'est sympa mais on en a vite fait le tour. On a passé la soirée tranquille à l'appart. Le dimanche on avait prévu de faire un pique-nique au bord du lac. Alors en dépit du temps pourri, on est passé au marché s'acheter du vin local (oui oui ils font du vin à Genève), un poulet rôti et ses patates, du fromage et de la charcuterie. On s'est posé sous un arbre, sur la jetée du port et on s'est régalé. L'arbre nous a bien protégés de la fine pluie. On était juste en face du parc La Grange qui est supposé être le plus beau parc de la ville, alors avant de retourner vers la ville on est allé y jeté un coup d'œil. Ils ont on jardin de roses et elles étaient encore en fleurs. Certaines sentaient même vraiment bon. Les gouttelettes sur les pétales était le set idéal pour prendre des photos (dommage que j'ai lassé mon gros appareil à l'appart). Sur le chemin du retour on s'est arrêté aux fêtes de Genève pour boire une bière. On avait l'intention d'en boire une autre dans un bar de la vieille ville mais des trombes d'eau nous on fait changer d'avis. On est rentré (plutôt mouillé😉.

J'ai dû travailler Lundi et Mardi, mais bon comme je n'ai pas encore grand-chose à faire au labo, du coup j'ai pu manger avec lui les midis. Le temps était toujours aussi pourri Lundi soir donc on s'est fait un diner maison avec bouteille de vin et musique. Tout ça sur le balcon (c'est abrité😉. Franchement sympa ! Le Mardi fut bien plus mouvementé. Après un diner tôt et malgré la fine pluie, on a embarqué quelques canettes pour aller au bord du lac et aux fêtes de Genève. La musique n'était pas terrible mais on s'est quand même régalé
