Hello all from Interlaken Switzerland.
Well it was sad to see Mom go but it has been nice having Ross here as well. We spent two more days in Paris after Mom left and did the quick version of Paris. We got on a train yesterday from Paris-Geneva-Bern-Interlaken. It is a beautiful little town between two lakes (hence the name) and got settled at a great hostel named Balmer's Herberge. It has absolutely anything two young travellers would want. Laundry, food, a bar, store, kitchen, beds etc.... activities like sky diving, river rafting, scooter rental etc. We met some nice Canadians and Americans last night and had a blast in the night club downstairs in the hostel.
This morning we rented scooters with some new friends and headed up the valley to Grindlewald. This humble mountain village is beautiful. See pictures! We stopped for a quick rest and had some hot chocolate with rum and a cheezy pizza. We winded back down the little Swiss road and just like that 4 hours had gone bye. It was a great way to spend the day and see some of the area.
We headed to the grocery store and bought some
pasta to cook for dinner. It is nice to have a kitchen and save some money and cook our own food.
We are pretty tired so I think a movie in the lounge is on our list of things to do tonight. It is Friday night however so it is going to be a loud night. The hostel sleeps at least 100 people so add alcohol and the volume only goes up!
Anyways, we just wanted to let you all know that we are doing well and having a great time. We are heading for Gimmewald tomorrow to stay in the mountain hostel and hopefully do some hiking if the weather improves. Its not too bad but it is hard to see the mountain peaks with all the clouds in the way!
Hope you are all well, enjoy the pictures and we will write again soon.
Love, Alicia and Ross
