Well Aunt Swedish Berry and I arrived in Stockholm today around 10am Canadian time. We had a pretty long 10 hour flight on probably the smallest most cramped plane known to man-kind (Learn from this people, dont take 10 hour "leisure" flights). Very uncomfortable! One saving grace is that we did get to watch English tv shows on the way like "How I Met Your Mother" and "Big Bang Theory". We arrived in Helsinki where we had a 2 hour stop-over before making our way to Stockholm. We both decided the Finnish language is not for us. Holy cow do they speak quickly!!!

Once we got to Stockholm we checked into our Hotel and then we decided to see some sights. Not even sure how we found the energy to get our butts moving but we did quite a bit of walking. Apparently we were almost at the palace! Tomorrow we're getting up a bit early to head over again after a night in a real bed (thank god!) and then we'll be hopping on a plane to Linkoping where I'll be living and going to school.

One thing we've learned is that things are definitely quite pricey here. Dinner at an English pub with 2 veggie burger meals and 2 alcoholic beverages ran a bill of 90 Canadian!!! YIKES! We were also commenting about how funny all the different languages are here. We met a vendor on the street selling bracelets. When we walked up to take a look it took him 5 minutes to decide what language to communicate with us in! The cool thing is that most people are very fluently bilingual. He went through Swedish and Spanish before he realized we spoke English.

Also just from walking around the city we've discovered that the Swedes have style!! Their clothes and accessories are totally fabulous!!

I've taken a few pictures and will try to get them up on here although the internet is a tiny bit slow in the hotel so we'll see how it goes. More adventuring ahead and an update in a few days. It's really gorgeous here- can't wait to see more!!
