jerez
Tio Pepe, iconic symbol.
in the end i idscovered i didnt actually like Fino compared the Manzanilla from Sancular, there is a massive one of these symbols in Madrid and also the weather vane over the Tio Pepe Bodega is in the same style This was the starting point of a three week trip around southern spain.
Theres not actually much in Jerez but its a cool little place, ideally placed for visiting places such as Arcos de la frontera ,Cadiz and Sanlucar.
Obviously there are sherry places to see and horse shows, but my favourite thing was the weather and sitting on the steps of the orange patios near the alcazar with a bottle of red and watching the sunset with my book.
I visited Sanlucar for a day and did the sherry tour in a place in spanish cos i had missed the english tour, didnt get a word but it was very aromatic! the hall with the barrels was like the Dwarf hall in lord of the rings.
i then got ready to go to Cadiz for two days only to discover that i had actually booked a hotel in Sanlucar!!!
As it turned out though the hotel was lovely with courtyards and a great rooftop patio.
There was a great Tapas bar and i enjoyed the supermarket and sitting on the beach, great ice cream too!
Sanlucar was very small but nice, worth a nights
stop over.
