Last stop

We came back to Madrid for the last two days before flying home. It was over 100 degrees cooking down to about 85 right before dawn. We walked around at night and tried to stay inside cool museums and cathedrals during the day.

Cathedral 1
This is the cathedral across from the royal palace. The king's daughter was baptized here just a days before we visited. One of my favorite cathedrals of the whole trip. Had the Gothic architecture, but was very clean, bright and colorful, with modern design touches throughout.

Cathedral 2
All the ceilings were painted in these bright, vibrant colors. The stained glass had traditinoal themes, but modern, almost cubist lines.
