Segovia
view from higher ground Hello all you who are signed up 😊
I have not written in a long time, mostly because I have been busy. So, here is the update of what has been going on:
The first weekend, our group took a trip to Segovia, which was beautiful. I will put some pictures up, which is probably better than just writing about it. We saw la catedral y la castilla, both of which were awesome. However, I did almost get hit by a car in the street, to the dismay of my group...and later in the day I had a little adventure. I told the group I would be in the store next to the one they were in, but when I came out, they were gone. So I walked around Segovia a little by myself and stumbled upon the oldest church there. I tried (pathetically) to talk to a women there about the church, but I'm afraid I made a lot of mistakes. I made my way back to the Roman Aqueducts where everyone was going to meet, everyone freaked out when I just walked up casually and was like, "hey guys..." Apparently they thought I was lost, but I

me next to the sign! assured them I was not lost, I just lost them. And that no, I was not hit by a car.
The next weekend my roommates and I took a day trip to Toledo. Toledo is great, except it is one giant labrynth. We wandered and wandered and finally found the Cathedral that is supposedly so famous. For being so famous, it was hard to find. There would be a sign that pointed in the "general direction" of the cathedral, but then there would be no more signs. We also ended going in circles and ended up at the same monestary three times trying to find a museum, which turned out to be closed. It was cold and rainy, and I was getting sick, so I think my view of Toledo is tainted. The cathedral was amazing, but the street signs are not so amazing, nor the map we bought. We swore we were in the twilight zone, and all the people walking around were just as lost as we were, and had been wandering for years. We met some Italians who were just as lost as we were, but through our sweet Spanish sklls, we made it back to the

me and some people in my program. I honestly can't seen who it is in this little thumbnail...we are at a little cafeteria. bus station to come back to Madrid. I've never been so glad to be in Madrid.
This past weekend we went to Barcelona. One word: Gaudi. Or one name is probably more appropriate. The buildings were amazingly beautiful, and the park (I forget the name) he designed was so much fun. We spent the whole day there, which meant no Mediterranean beach for me, but the park was spectacular. I have many pictures of this as well. There was a festival in Barcelona that weekend, so there were many tourists there, and there were plenty of festivities, including a creepy parade which Jenny (my roommate) and I heard in the distance and decided to check out. We didn't know what to think. There will be pictures of this as well. You can't miss it. It was mad weird. Again, I was glad to be back in Madrid after being in Barcelona with sooooo many people. I don't know what other people think, but I like Madrid better. 😊 (For those of you who don't know there is a rivalry between Barcelona and Madrid, especially when it comes to football...)
I will be off for Granada tomorow with my

outside of the cathedral roommate because my parents are there. I will be writing about that soon. These are all the trips I have taken so far, which are more interesting than my daily life. Oh, one thing cool though, I went to a club and saw flamenco music last night. It was pretty cool. It definitely was an interesting experience. Okay, that's it for now! Thanks for reading 😊
