I am a Spanish teacher that tries to make it to a new country every summer. I love to travel and learn about new cultures. I travel for fun and for missions, however the opportunities are presented. As a child I lived in Germany, Colombia and Mexico. I remember Mexico, but not Colombia and Germany. I would like to visit the last two. 2005 I travelled Costa Rica with a friend, absolutely LOVED it. on each side are fruits -- one side for fall fruits, and this side for spring fruits -- supposedly they represent the Fruits of the Spirit.

Revolutionary for its time. The curves actually prevent standing water from staying on the house. Inside you can see some of what would have been Gaudi's workshop, and what the parish school would have looked like.

So, what is fun is from the Vallcarca metro stop, you can walk to Parc Guell -- and there are these escalators, because it is nothing but an uphill battle. :) we stopped for ice cream.

this is the top of the park before you get to the typical Gaudi things. It has a neat overlook of the entire city.

Across from Gaudi's house is this neat little walk way -- it is worth seeing.

This is the longest public bench in the world. Every part of it is different with tile -- i am only giving you a small taste.

loved the pictures
Leah, Absolutely loved the pictures of La Sagrada Familia. I studied this cathedral a number of times while working on my design degree. Your pictures really gave me a inside view of the building...brought back some old memories. Definitely have to put Barcelona on my bucket list now!
