We started our day walking at about 7.30 after having a rough nights sleep....Jacqui coughing me feeling bit weird in the stomach and people vomiting everywhere....we were quite pleased to be on our way and escape the nunnery...I knew it wasn't for me

We decided not to stop for breakfast as we had food in our backpacks and would sit and eat down the track. We had 17 km to walk and knew there wasn't any where to buy a coffe but there was a town in between to sit and eat and rest.

We saw a couple of guys on our way with horses....They were doing the camino on horse back.....great way to go....walking on four feet not two.... have seen quite a few people doing it on bikes...they do ride on the main roads where they can and as we got further along a new sign for the bikes started to appear....

There were quite a few people walking that day.....not long after leaving the town the wind started to blow.....it was hitting us from our left side....most of us walk with poles and we were all walking with the right one on a angle keeping our balance it was so strong. We were walking on the messeta which is about 4 days of walking on flat plains surrounded by cereal crops....so there were no trees or shelter (this is where some people will get a bus and go onto the next big town as it can be very boring to walk....but to us its a bit like cheating)......We never did find the town that was to offer a seat and somewhere to eat....all we could do was walk...my nose was constantly running from the wind and cold.....we came across two shed on either side of the roads but both had fences around them so we had no hope of just getting out of it for a few minutes.......about 5 ks out we came across a leanto that was supposeable a shelter except the opening was facing the wind so was of no help.....We could see a map on a board and wandered over.......a couple that we had met earlier in our walk Tony and Clare from Adelaide were sitting on a seat.....went over and said "are we having fun yet" turned around and there was a a camera crew standing there with a mic in his hand. We had seen them a couple of weeks ago interviewing people about the camino. The interviewer asked me wasn't I cold walking as he was sitting there freezing...I told him no when I am walking I get quite hot and suggested to him to go for a walk to warm up......I think maybe they want see to much of my interview on what ever TV program it will be aired .....I think maybe Holland........We kept on walking untill we finally finished our 17k's.....The bar was packed with people.....the place had rooms to stay in and there were quite a few deciding to stay for the night. We were sooooo pleased to get out of the wind that had not let up at all....we had been walking non stop for about 4hrs in it.....After a toilet break coffee and something to eat we felt much better......noone seemed in any hurry to move on but after about an hours break we decided to walk the next 8km to the next town where we were going to stay....so out we went again

When we finally got to Terradillos we went to the first albergue we saw which looked quite new and very big and booked in.....we were shown to a room that had two bunks and its own shower and toilet....we shared with a 60yr old French lady Charlotte who could speak english and an Italian guy Daniel in his 30's. He was walking the second half of his camino...He did his first half last year...not a good day to start walking....can only get better.....We showered and I left Jacqui resting on her bed. I think she was a bit shell shocked from the walk....went and got the washing done...10 eu... bit steep but at least we had clean clothes....

There was a fireplace in the corner and it felt so good being inside dry and warm and seeing the wind blow outside.....The news came on...not that I could understand it but the pictures told the story.....A lot of filming of beaches and waves crashing on them and cliffs.....A small domestic plane trying to land with its tail swinging to the side....It did land ok not sure how tho......We found out that we had walked 25km in 100 km winds .....no wonder we had walking poles out to one side trying to keep our balance and we felt buggered ......but what an achievment

Went to bed before Jacqui...I was ready to sleep ....Jacqui wasnt far behind me and Daniel followed after. There was a soccor match on everyone was watching

Slept reasonably well...Daniel was a bit of a snorer....but my stomach had settled down and was feeling better and Jacqui didn't cough as much......think we just needed a bit of wind to blow the bugs away......

Not a lot of photos taken today.....
