Another day ahead of us the same as the last...excellent! Found our spot by the main pool, as usual, then breakfast by the pool, as usual. Keith found the perfect table, hidden behind the main area, but still right by the pool...perfect because we could wrap our lunch and slide it into our bags relative ease!
Still no strawberries so we had to be happy with pineapple daiquiris (which we were!) delivered by our special black waiter (that sounds racist but we don't know his name so we distinguish them by calling them the friendly black waiter and the friendly Irish waiter!). Anyway, the friendly blcck waiter delivered our drinks but warned Rach that she was turning brown, and soon she would be his colour, and then he wouldn't like her as much!
The usual swimming and lunch followed, then Rach and I decided to get some jump shots into the water. We tried to do them out of the prying eyes of the whistle-blowing life guard (who, in the past few days, seemed to like to blow his whistle and shout at anyone who was diving or jumping or shouting!) Keith was the photographer, so it took many
jumps to get a shot where both Rach and I were in the air...but we managed to do it without getting told off! Rach then decided that Keith and I should do a jump shot, and so we tried...a lot of effort on our parts, but not quite the same look at Rachels!
Late in the afternoon we decided to go for a swim at the beach...we'd walked past it every night but hadn't yet been for a swim...that's the down side of staying in such a lovely place...there has been no need or desire to go anywhere, except to go for a nightly walk to dinner and back! So, off to the beach we went! HEAPS of people had the same idea...we couldn't believe how many people were lying on towels on the rocky beach...crazy!Lots of cute little blue and white changing sheds along the beach, and lots of very colourful umbrellas. Rach and I were keen to swim but the pull of the tide was so strong that it seemed too dangerous, and not at all pleasant! So, back to our Sheraton haven we went!
Before dinner, I decided to treat myself to a relaxation massage...quite
expensive but well worth it!
We went back to our favourite restaurant for dinner again, Michelangelos...only a few minutes from our hotel. As soon as we stepped out the door Keith made his usual nightly comment "This is a good temperatre, just right" to which Rach and I both replied "and I can't get over how desolate it looks...it looks like the surface of the moon". All three comments were made every single night by Keith!
MIchelangelos was yet again a hit! As soon as we walked in we were given a free glass of champagne, because we were return guests (we think). The same family we saw last time were dining there again (maybe the free champagne was the draw card!) and Keith decided to stop and have a chat, showed them his burnt stomach, and chatted about the terrible London weather, the heat in Rome etc.We all ordered steak (as we hadn't had one all holiday...welll Keith did have the medium-rare one that he doesn't count because there was too much blood!) It was absolutely beautiful, mouth watering! Good choice! We wanted look at the dessert menu, but like the wine menu...it was simply in the
waiters head! He reeled off what was available...no real need in Keith's case as he always has tiramasu....which was apparently quite nice, but a little too much cream!
We headed home through the desolateness (Rach and I have created that word just for keith) and in the perfect temperature...and straight into bed for yet another night of snoring. Keith did sleep at the other end of the bed, which meant he was another metre away from our heads so maybe that will help!
