We have been warned that the police is on the alert watching out for cars not stopping on full stop and speeding. We have past at least 20 radar controls without speeding. But now it was our time. We where entering a city and where in a que. The speed limit in the towns are 60km/h. The car in front of us passed the control post and we where stopped. The police man told us that our speed entering the town was 78 kmh. I don’t know why the car in front at the same speed was not stopped but I suspect that the measurement where wrong. The police man asked for driving license car documents etc, and 300 dh, approx 25€. Everything was then handed to his boss and I went over to him. He looked at my driving license and asked what that was, I realized then that I did not have an international driving license. He asked if this was my first trip to Morrocco and I confirmed. He then handed back all my papers and the 300dh, and wished us a nice trip in Morocco. It was maybe to much paperwork for a speeding foreigner without international

driving license, so he decided just to drop it all. We drove through Ouarzazate, one of the worlds biggest filmstudios is located there http://www.atlasobscura.com/places/atlas-film-studios They have just started We filming The Queen of the desert with Nicole Kidman in the leading role as Gertrude Bell. http://queenofthedesertfilm.com Unfortunately we did not see or meet anyone of this filmset, but are looking forward to see the film. In Tihinger we stopped a couple of days and visited the gorge, the market and were invited home to a family for tea. Then it was time for the real desert and the sand dunes. We stayed in Merzouga at Erb Cheggi for almost a week, Driving a Landrover in the dunes, riding camels in the dunes and staying in a Nomad tent in the sand dunes one night. It was an new experience. Temperature dropping close to 0 C during night time. Then we went to Midelt a mining town in the Atlas mountain approx 1500 m above sea level. We continued past Meknes and to Fes. The medina is the second biggest in Morrocco and also listed by UN as an world heritage. We finally went to Kenitra a modern town and the

main city of the region. Not anything special apart from the bar we visited with a lot of Morrocons drinking redwine and beer. Our last night was in Boulay Mousselham where our first night also where spent.
As we now are leaving Morocco its time to summarise our experiences. we have learned a little bit about Nomads, Touaregs, Berber people and Arabs, they are all Moroccan. The berber people were the original inhabitants and consisted of nomads and touarags. The Arabs came to Morrocco and brought their religion with them. Morocco is a muslim country and the official claims 99% of the population are muslims. According to a lot of the people we met, most berber from the original population are not believing muslims. So probably they have to recalculate the figures. I also think that the one, that wrote in the book about 5 times daily too scream out there prayers from the towers, never expected that mankind could invent loudspeakers and amplifiers. This sound is just a noise in the public room.

The country is full of contrasts nice and clean somewhere and dirty as a dump other places. Green and fertile north of the Atlas mountains.

South of the mountains there are mostly desert. The best places we enjoyed the most, where the smaller places where the people were easy to get in contact with. The least interesting was Agadir, Casablanca. Casablanca for its size noise and garbage. Agadir was just as any european tourist trap. We loved our time in Morocco and would probably go back. We drove close to 4000 km. We would like to thank our followers and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you like to have more information from our travel in Morocco.

We arrived in Spain in a terrible weather. Rain and storm. Instead of visiting Portugal, we drove almost directly to Vera approx 100 km west of Cartagena and resting there a couple of days.
